How do I create a new goal?
Tap the "+" button on the home screen, enter your goal title and description, choose a plant type,
and tap "Plant Hope" to create your new goal tree.
How does watering work?
Tap on any tree to water it. Each watering represents progress toward your goal. Your tree will
grow and change as you consistently water it over time.
Can I sync my data across devices?
No. Hope Tree stores all your data locally on your device only. Your data does not sync to any servers
or cloud services. This ensures maximum privacy - your goals and journal entries never leave your device.
How do I change the app theme?
Go to Profile → Theme, then choose from 14 beautiful color themes including Sakura, Matcha, Midnight,
and more. Your selection will apply throughout the app.
What are the mindfulness tools?
The Tools tab provides breathing exercises, stretching guides, and other wellness activities designed
for general relaxation and self-reflection. These are not medical tools but can support your daily routine.
Can I add photos to my journal?
Yes! When creating or editing a journal entry, tap the camera icon to add photos from your library
or take a new photo.
How do I delete a goal?
Go to the Hope List and tap on a hope item to delete the hope. Note: This action cannot be undone,
so make sure you want to permanently remove the goal.
What do the different plant types mean?
Each plant type (Tree, Shrub, Climber, Grass, etc.) offers a different visual style for your goals.
Choose the one that resonates with your goal's nature or simply pick your favorite!
How do I set up reminders?
Go to Profile → Settings → Notifications. You can enable daily reminders to water your hopes and
choose your preferred reminder time.
Troubleshooting
App crashes or freezes
- Make sure you have the latest version of Hope Tree installed
- Restart your device
- Check that you have sufficient storage space
- Back up your device before reinstalling the app (data will be lost upon uninstall)
Data backup
- All data is stored locally on your device only
- Keep your device backed up using your device's backup system
- Data will be lost if you uninstall the app
- Make sure to back up your device regularly to preserve your Hope Tree data
Notifications not working
- Go to device Settings → Notifications → Hope Tree and ensure notifications are enabled
- Check that Do Not Disturb mode is not active
- Verify notification settings within the Hope Tree app
Privacy & Security
Your data stays on your device. Hope Tree stores all your personal data, including goals and
journal entries, exclusively on your device. We do not sync data to any servers, access your contacts, or
collect information about your device storage. Your privacy is completely protected. For more information,
